Geek Tip: This week's tip comes from Jim's Gmail Tips - Sometimes when I perform a search in Gmail, I don't want my chat history to show up in the results. You may have wondered if there is a way to exclude all chat session logs from your search results too.

Here's how it's done:

  • Add the following text to your search string: -label:Chat
  • Likewise, if you wanted to include words found ONLY in Chat session logs, just add the following to your search string: +label:Chat
